First Aid For Sports

Sporting injuries and accidents can have life long-lasting effects on a person’s health and fitness and that’s where our First Aid for Sports course comes in.

First Aid For Sports is a 4 hour certificated course looking at first aid provisions for small sporting events and groups.

First Aid for Sports has been specially designed for local teams and sporting events that need to provide first aid provisions, but may not want a full 2-day Activity First Aid course.

The course will provide learners with the skills, knowledge and confidence to provide players or others injured or unwell at sporting events and games with immediate care in a wide range of sporting accidents and ill-health.

First Aid for Sports in Norfolk and SuffolkBased in Norfolk all our First Aid courses are available throughout the UK.

Our First Aid courses are taught by experienced professionals who have worked in or are still involved in healthcare. Our skills range from health and social care to public events first aid management.

About This Training Course

The identified aims of our First Aid For Sports course are:

To promote health and well-being during sports and physical activities.
To provide learners will the ability to administer first aid to others that have been injured due to sports related injuries.
To save lives through quality CPR and AED resuscitation skills.

The objectives of this course are:

To understand the role and responsibilities of a First Aider.
To be able to provide First Aid to an unresponsive casualty.
To be able to provide First Aid to a casualty who is choking.
To be able to provide First Aid to a casualty with external bleeding.
Know how to provide First Aid to a casualty who is in shock.
Know how to provide First Aid to a casualty with minor injuries.

This course covers the following topics:

The role and responsibilities of a First Aider, and identify the need for consent to provide First Aid.
Primary survey of a casualty.
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
The recovery position.
External bleeding.
Minor injuries, sprains and strains and breaks.

This course is normally delivered over 4 hours.

The course is delivered as a certificated course.
