Health & Safety at Work Level 2

This is an excellent introduction to health and safety in the workplace and will benefit all employees, particularly those who may be accepting a health and safety role, such as a safety representative within their organisation.

Health and Safety at Work is a 1 day, level 2 qualification. This course is aimed at general staff and those with enhanced responsibilities.

Managing Health and Safety at work is everyone’s responsibility. Our Level 2 qualification in health and safety will give learners the skills and knowledge to effectively manage health and safety in the workplace.

Additionally, the course will support those who take on additional roles within their workplaces such as H&S Reps, Co-ordinators and Risk Assessors.

Successful candidates will be awarded a national Level 2 qualification which will provide an ideal platform to higher level training or career development.

About This Training Course

The identified aims of our Emergency First Aid At Work course are:

To educate learners about the importance of workplace health and safety. To promote a positive and safe workplace for employees.
To reduce the risk of accidents and injuries at work through systematic risk assessments.
To promote organisational communication with Health and Safety Reps.

The objectives of this course are:

To understand roles and responsibilities for health, safety and welfare in the workplace.
To understand how risk assessments contribute to health and safety.
Understand how to identify and control the risks from common workplace hazards.
Know the procedures for responding to accidents and incidents in the workplace.

This course covers the following topics:

The roles and responsibilities for health, safety and welfare in the workplace.
The value and process of risk assessments.
The identification and control of workplace hazards.
How to respond to workplace incidents and accidents

This course is normally delivered between the hours of 09:30 – 16:30.

For qualification purposes, learners are assessed through a 10 question test paper at the end of the course.

There are two options for certification:
The learner can be certificated with a non-regulated MVA Training certificate OR
The learner can be certificated with the Ofqual regulated FAA Level 2 Award in Health & Safety at Work

The level 1 qualification in health and safety is aimed and staff new to the workplace, or with minimal responsibility for health and safety. The course focuses on general employee’s responsibilities. The level 2 qualification is aimed at supervisors and managers with enhanced responsibilities to health and safety such Reps or those conducting Risk Assessments.
The level 1 qualification in Fire Safety is aimed and staff new to the workplace, or with minimal responsibility for fire safety. The course focuses on general employee’s responsibilities. The level 2 qualification is aimed at those who may have increased responsibility to fire safety such as Fire Wardens and Fire Marshalls.
