 All aspects of Health and Safety are important to a business whether you are an employee, contractor or supplier and this half-day course will benefit both the learner and the business, ensuring that the working environment is a safe and healthy one.

Health and Safety Awareness is a half-day course that can be certificated with a non-regulated MVA Training certificate or certificated with the Ofqual regulated FAA Level 1 Award in Health & Safety Awareness (RQF). This course is aimed at general staff and those with enhanced responsibilities.

Managing Health and Safety at work is everyone’s responsibility. Our Level 1 course in health and safety will give learners an overview of their responsibilities in health and safety at work.

This course is aimed at the general staff and those new to health and safety.

Our health and safety courses are Health and Safety Executive (HSE) approved, so you can be certain that the quality of training and first aiders in your organisation are of the standard you need.

About This Training Course

The identified aims of our Emergency First Aid At Work course are:

To educate learners in the basics of workplace health and safety.
To promote a positive and safe workplace for employees.
To reduce the risk of accidents and injuries at work through improved ways of working.

The objectives of this course are:

Understand the importance of health, safety and welfare standards in the workplace.
To know how hazards and risks are controlled in the workplace.
Be aware of the main causes and effects of poor health and safety at work.
Understand how health and safety information is communicated in the workplace.

This course covers the following topics:

Understanding the importance of health, safety and welfare standards in the workplace
Knowing how hazards and risks are controlled in the workplace
Being aware of the main causes and effects of poor health and safety at work
Understanding how health and safety information is communicated in the workplace

This course is normally delivered over 4 hours.

For qualification purposes, learners are assessed through a 10 question test paper at the end of the course.

There are two options for certification:

The learner can be certificated with a non-regulated MVA Training certificate OR
The learner can be certificated with the Ofqual regulated FAA Level 1 Award in Health & Safety Awareness (RQF)

The level 1 qualification in health and safety is aimed and staff new to the workplace, or with minimal responsibility for health and safety. The course focuses on general employee’s responsibilities. The level 2 qualification is aimed at supervisors and managers with enhanced responsibilities to health and safety such Reps or those conducting Risk Assessments.
The level 1 qualification in Fire Safety is aimed and staff new to the workplace, or with minimal responsibility for fire safety. The course focuses on general employee’s responsibilities. The level 2 qualification is aimed at those who may have increased responsibility to fire safety such as Fire Wardens and Fire Marshalls.
OFQUAL is the government branch that monitors and regulates qualifications in the UK. This means the FAA qualifications you gain are recognised by OFQUAL and meet their very stringent standards.
