Introduction To Safeguarding

Everyone has the right to live free from all forms of abuse and neglect. But abuse still happens either from the actions or inaction of others.

This course is a half-day introduction to the principals of safeguarding to help staff be able to identify and recognise the signs of abuse and the processes for making safeguarding referrals.

Introduction To Safeguarding is designed for all persons, no matter the field that they are directly involved in, to give them the tools and knowledge to make a difference to a vulnerable person’s life.

Our Safeguarding courses are taught by experienced professionals who have worked in or are still involved in health and social care, with first-hand experience in dealing with abuse cases and safeguarding matters.

About This Training Course

The identified aims of our Emergency First Aid At Work course are:

To educate learners in what abuse is and recognition of the signs that abuse may be happening.
To promote best practice in preventing abuse from occurring.
To support staff in making judgements and the reporting process.

The objectives of this course are:

To understand how to safeguard and protect children, young people or vulnerable adults in the workplace.
Know how to respond to evidence or concerns that a child, young person or vulnerable adult has been abused.
To know what safeguarding legislation and guidance exists to protect vulnerable people.

This course cover the following topics:

Safeguarding legislation and guidance
Indicators of abuse or neglect
Making Judgements
Communication

This course is normally delivered over 4 hours.

Learners on this course will receive a certification of their learning.
